JD Industrial launches the "No Inflated Specs" initiative, joining forces with leading brands to tackle industry irregularities.
In early June 2026, JD Industrial—in collaboration with industry leaders such as Far East Cable, Wanma Co., Ltd., and TBEA Shandong Luneng Cable—officially launched an initiative to eliminate specification misrepresentation in the wire and cable industry, alongside an inclusive procurement program for small, medium, and micro-sized enterprises (SMEs). These efforts aim to rebuild industry trust through digitalization, regulatory compliance, and enhanced efficiency.
The wire and cable industry currently faces three major challenges: intense internal competition, long payment cycles from large clients, and volatile raw material prices. Issues such as non-standard products, specification misrepresentation, and “slimmed-down cables” (substandard cables with reduced material content) have persisted despite repeated crackdowns; the industry was twice exposed on CCTV’s “3.15 Gala” (in 2022 and 2025), placing immense competitive pressure on companies committed to national quality standards. Wang Chaolong, Deputy General Manager of Wanma Co., Ltd., noted that fierce homogenization in the low-to-mid-end market, compounded by surging copper prices, has placed increasing strain on corporate capital turnover and inventory management.
The initiative to eliminate specification misrepresentation establishes five key principles: adhering to national standards as a baseline, prioritizing quality, ensuring full-chain traceability, strengthening platform-based product curation, and welcoming public oversight. JD Hardware City maintains a rigorous selection mechanism for its direct-sales model; out of thousands of cable manufacturers, only about 80 high-quality enterprises have been admitted, effectively preventing non-standard products and specification misrepresentation at the source. The concurrently launched inclusive procurement program for SMEs comprises four key measures—offering authentic products, favorable pricing, rapid delivery, and quality services—thereby enabling SMEs to enjoy the same level of service typically reserved for “major clients.”
JD Industrial currently serves 8 million SMEs. Leveraging a nationwide network of eight regional warehouses, it achieves “211” delivery (delivery by the next day if ordered before 11:00 PM) in over 80% of regions. Leading brands agree that JD Industrial acts as a vital driver of high-quality industry development by using digital intelligence to bridge the gap between supply and demand and by upholding the integrity of authentic products through strict curation.
