JDR Cable Systems Opens New Blyth Plant for Offshore Wind Infrastructure
JDR Cable Systems has officially launched its new manufacturing facility in Blyth, UK, designed to strengthen industrial capacity for the growing global demand for offshore wind energy and offshore electrification projects.
The new plant increases JDR's manufacturing capacity and reinforces the resilience of the UK supply chain. It will produce advanced Inter-Array, Interconnector, and Export Cable systems for energy projects in various international markets.
Technical capabilities at the Blyth facility include:
Advanced AC cable solutions with increased delivery lengths
Configurations with larger cross-sections
Higher voltage classes reaching up to Um=300 kV
These capabilities respond to the needs of next-generation offshore projects, which require more robust electrical infrastructure to transport energy from sites increasingly far from the coast.
The opening of JDR Blyth marks a new stage in the company's long-term technology and manufacturing strategy, as offshore wind farms continue to grow in scale and complexity, driving demand for specialized transmission systems capable of connecting infrastructure located far from shore.
