Datong-Huailai-Tianjin 1000kV UHV Project: 385 km of Control Cable to be Installed
The Datong-Huailai-Tianjin South 1000kV UHV AC Transmission Project, a key national "14th Five-Year Plan" power development project, has entered the critical cable laying and secondary wiring phase as of July 2026.
Project Scale:
Control Cable to be Installed: 385 km
Power Cable to be Installed: 80 km
The massive cable network ensures both physical connectivity and absolutely precise signal transmission between equipment
Engineering Challenges:
Confined cable trench spaces requiring hundreds of kilometers of cables to be routed through complex bracket layers
Strict separation requirements between power cables and control cables - laid in layers with fireproof partitions between each layer to eliminate signal interference
Continuous high temperatures posing endurance challenges for the 300+ construction workers
The project is targeting equipment commissioning by the end of July 2026. This demonstrates the massive scale of control cable deployment in modern ultra-high-voltage infrastructure.
