igus Expands CFROBOT8.PLUS Series with New DeviceNet Bus Cable
In July 2026, igus announced the expansion of its CFROBOT8.PLUS series with a new DeviceNet bus cable specifically engineered for highly dynamic robotic applications requiring ±360°/m torsion .
Key Technical Specifications:
Designed for ±360°/m torsional movements
Guaranteed service life of 10 million cycles
Outer diameter reduced by up to 21% compared to the previous CFROBOT8 series, offering advantages in confined spaces
Torsion-resistant overall shield made from tinned copper braiding ensures reliable data transmission without disruptions
Resistant to oil and UV radiation, suitable for indoor and outdoor use
Rainer Rössel, Head of Business Unit chainflex Cables at igus, explained: “This is made possible by a special braiding of the shielding design, which resembles a knitting pattern and thus allows greater freedom of movement.”
Application Range:
The cable is designed for six-axis robots, handling systems, lead screw drives, machine tools, and free-hanging applications such as mobile terminals. The CFROBOT8.PLUS series now covers all common bus systems including Profinet, Profibus, CAN bus, and Ethernet up to CAT7. All cables are available from stock in lengths starting at one metre and are backed by igus’s four-year guarantee
