HARTING Introduces Surface-Mount D-Sub Connector Range for Modern Assembly Processes
In July 2026, HARTING introduced a family of surface-mount D-Sub connectors whose design has been optimised to provide compatibility with modern assembly processes as well as long-term reliability .
Key Design Features:
A combination of stamped terminals and a specially designed insulator achieves 100% co-planarity, ensuring reliable SMT soldering
Die-cast brackets offer a large solder area on each side, adding significant physical mounting resiliency
The brackets control the centre of gravity to ensure perfect stability of the connector during assembly
Two zero-insertion-force positioning pegs maintain reliability in pick-and-place mounting operations
A large flat surface for a vacuum pipette aids automated assembly
Product Availability:
The surface-mount D-Sub range includes 9- and 15-pole versions delivered in 120-piece reels. A low-profile range combining the same features is planned for future release
