GigE Vision is an interface standard that transmits image and control data from industrial cameras to host systems via standard Gigabit Ethernet, requiring no dedicated frame grabber hardware .

Protocol Architecture:
GigE Vision operates through two sub-protocols :
GVCP (Control Protocol): Manages device discovery, IP configuration, and camera parameter access
GVSP (Data Streaming Protocol): Handles image and measurement data transfer
The standard is maintained by the Association for Advancing Automation (A3). Version 2.0 (2011) added multi-camera synchronization and enhanced bandwidth support for higher-resolution sensors .
