Retail Store Hours for Thanksgiving and Black Friday 2026
Major retailers have announced their Thanksgiving and Black Friday operating hours for 2026, with most stores remaining closed on Thanksgiving Day before opening early on Black Friday .
Thanksgiving Day Closures:
Cortana Mall (Baton Rouge): Closed Thursday, opens 6 a.m. Friday
CBL & Associates Properties: Closing 72 of its malls for the day
Mall of America (nation's largest mall): Closed for Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Day Openings:
Mall of Louisiana: 6 p.m. – midnight
JCPenney: 3 p.m. – midnight
Best Buy: 5 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Belk: 4 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Kohl's: 6 p.m.
Big Lots: 7 a.m. – midnight
Stephen D. Lebovitz, president and CEO of CBL & Associates Properties, stated: "More retailers are coming to their senses and realizing it is a family holiday and from a business point of view, it's not making much business sense" .
