Christmas is still four months away, but retail analysts say some of the year's hottest gifts are already appearing on store shelves, bolstering the trend of early bird shopping for the best availability and deals .

68% of consumers plan to shop early this year to avoid delays
57% shop year-round to take advantage of deals
Of the 35% who plan to spend more in 2026, 64% said inflation is driving up the cost of gifts
Maddie Michalik, Toy Association communications manager, told Spectrum News: "In the past, we used to have Black Friday and Cyber Monday as that benchmark weekend where people really started their holiday shopping, but we're starting to see a shift where consumers are doing their shopping starting in September" .
