TE Connectivity Introduces M8/M12 Cable Assemblies with Fieldbus Protocols
TE Connectivity has launched new M8/M12 cable assembly solutions designed for Fieldbus data communications, complementing its existing sensor/actuator cable assembly portfolio for industrial networks .
The assemblies comply with Profibus, DeviceNet, and CC-link protocols. They feature 360° shielding against EMI, providing complete protection for signal and data transmission, and are rated IP67 for resistance to dust and water .
Configurations and Options:
Overmolded in either PVC or halogen-free polyurethane (PUR) cables
Suitable for drag chain applications or torsional stress
Standard cable length options from 0.5 to 15.0 meters (1.6 to 49 ft)
Available in customer-specific plug-and-play configurations for flexible installation
Market Context: Fieldbus networks still dominate industrial automation, accounting for 42% of the industrial network market and continuing to grow at approximately 6% per year, mostly through Profibus. Fieldbus is particularly practical for applications that do not require large bandwidth but benefit from power and signal in the same cable .
