Molex Debuts MX-DaSH Modular Wire-to-Wire Connectors for Zonal Architectures

Source:Industrial Automation / Time:2026-08-07

Molex has introduced the MX-DaSH Modular Wire-to-Wire Connectors, a cartridge-based connectivity platform that combines power, signal, and high-speed data terminals into a single housing system. This modular design is purpose-built for zonal electrical architectures and enables automotive manufacturers to reconfigure wire harnesses for different vehicle models and applications.

Key Specifications:

  • Unsealed connector system supporting up to 70 circuits across multiple cartridge configurations

  • Maximum circuit count per cartridge: 3 circuits (4.80mm and 6.30mm cartridges) to 26 circuits (0.50mm cartridges)

  • Complies with USCAR2 and USCAR49 specifications

  • Applications include instrument panel-to-body harness connections, seat power and signal connections, and electrical architecture components

Adoption Status:
Chinese OEMs are adopting the technology for model year 2026 vehicles, while North American and European manufacturers are planning deployment in model year 2028 designs.

The connector system consolidates multiple connection types into a single interface, allowing engineers to modify cartridges within the housing to add features or adjust pin configurations. As Scott Whicker, Senior Vice President and President of Transportation Innovative Solutions at Molex, stated: "MX-DaSH Modular Wire-to-Wire Connectors solve some of the biggest pain points in today's automotive design processes, caused by constant and rapid change in electrical and electronic requirements."
