Following overcrowding concerns and a bomb threat during the 2025 festival, Munich is implementing real-time visitor counting and crowd-spotting technology . A new coordination and monitoring center with CCTV surveillance will help identify issues before they become critical. The traditional brass bands will now start playing an hour earlier to encourage more visitors to come during the week, reducing weekend overcrowding . Multilingual public address announcements have also been improved .
