Eighty-year-old papier-mâché figures at the entrance to the cult Teufelsrad ride have been modified after Munich's women's equality office deemed two of them "too revealing" . One figure now wears a white blouse and long underpants under her dirndl, while another, representing a Hawaiian woman, received shoes and a top under her flower necklace . The operator, Elisabeth Polaczy, initially feared she would be barred from the Wiesn and spent thousands on repainting . The decision sparked political outrage, with CSU leader Manuel Pretzl calling it "paternalism" and stating the Wiesn "does not need a morality police"
