Nice Attack Commemoration: 10 Years Since the 2016 Truck Attack
This year's Bastille Day coincided with the 10-year anniversary of the July 14, 2016, attack in Nice, when a truck driver ploughed into crowds leaving a fireworks display, killing 86 people and wounding more than 400 .
Commemorations:
President Macron visited Nice to honour the victims .
Paris fireworks and firefighters' balls were moved to July 13 to allow for proper commemorative solemnity .
Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire stated: "I wanted the 2026 edition to take place on Monday, July 13, to allow the necessary respect for the national time of commemoration of the ten years of the Nice attack" .
Emmanuel Macron declared: "The victims have entered forever into our national memory"
