Taihan Cable Wins 330kV Turnkey Project for Australian AI Data Center
In July 2026, South Korea's second-largest cable company Taihan Cable & Solution secured a 45 billion won (approx. $30 million) turnkey contract from Transgrid, Australia's largest high-voltage transmission network operator, to supply a 330kV high-voltage AC cable system for an AI data center under construction in Australia .
Project Scope:
Taihan will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, including engineering, manufacturing, installation, and testing
The 330kV cable system is critical infrastructure for stable power supply to the AI data center, which operates 24/7 with high electricity consumption
The project demands high-level technical expertise in ultra-high-voltage cable quality, system design, engineering, and on-site construction management
Track Record:
Taihan was selected after competing with leading global companies, leveraging its proven track record in Oceania—including completing Australia's highest-voltage commercial underground cable project at 500kV and a 330kV cable system for Sydney's power grid expansion . The company had a cable order backlog worth 3.82 trillion won at the end of March 2026
